About this game

Play the first part for free. Get access to the full game with an in-app purchase.

Play as the commander of an emergency response team after a disaster at a secret lab, hidden deep in the arctic region. Your task is to cover up and maximize profits for the Xenowerk corporation, or to save the world, depending on whom you ask...

EXPLORE
Deploy squads on expeditions into the infected zone. Explore a ferocious landscape scattered with remnants of Xenowerk's absurd research facilities. Use skills, traits and mutations to mitigate the dangers, horrors and mishaps during your journeys.

Push your operatives to the limit, not to waste any precious time. Explore jungles, swamps, laboratories, shelters and factories. Scavenge for valuable resources. Carry out various missions. Secure strategic safe zones. Find and rescue M.I.A. operatives.

FIGHT
Control your squad in real-time combat against hordes of mutants. Use operative skills and mutations, such as Frag Grenade, Bait & Trap, Adrenaline, Pyrokinesis and much more, to skew the odds in your favor. Activate Tactical Pause at any time to give more detailed orders.

MANAGE
Recruit and evolve Marines, Rangers and Scientists as your operatives. But choose wisely, some may obtain dubious traits or mutations.

Spend gathered resources to enhance your base of operations; Barracks, Recruitment, Field hospital, Armory, etc. Spend earnings on treatments, upgrades and recruitment.

Cater for the whims of the Xenowerk Management to keep getting funded. Earn some extra cash-under-the-table by selling off resources on the Black Market. Or maybe try to save the world...

I liked the game but the content is a little bit shallow for that price tag. The morale and random events, made me compare it to darkest dungeon which set too high standards for me^^ After i finished the game on hard, there rly was no value in playing anymore. It is quite tough in the beginning but once you figure it out, it becomes repetitive quickly. I'd like to see more classes so you actually have to make choices. Also I'd like to see unique boss encounters. Last mission was way too easy.

The cons: "easy" mode was balanced by sadistic masochists who hate themselves and everyone else, and the difficulty increments between levels are closer to exponential than linear. The game goads you into thinking that it's a good thing to try to please the employer, who offers large rewards for doing so, but doing so ends the game really early (30-odd game-days). It's significantly grindy - mission after mission only to level up the characters and base enough to be able to take on the next campaign mission. Pros: other than that, i enjoyed my first play-through (as a corporate stooge). Its mission system is novel, controls are well-designed, and the audio is nice. i won't play through it again, though, as the grind and 380% "easy mode" sadism (especially on level 3+ missions) ruin it quite thoroughly for me.

An ok game which falls short of being good by making some little but annoying mistakes. 1. You can't change Name and appearance of your soldiers. Which is pure cosmetic but also an easy feature that provides so much value for roleplaying. 2. Character development is completely random. While it makes sense for the setting it is very unfun to play with. Perhapes give the player a selection of several random traits/mutations at level up or implement a feature for the SPA to reroll existing mutation
